Petting Zoo Fun

Final Transformation and Release

It was a bittersweet day in second grade today.  The beautiful butterfly emerged and with some reluctance, the second graders released it.  We watched as the wings dried and also as it fluttered its wings for the first time.  Here are a few pictures from our exciting morning.

Almost Ready

Checking on our chrysalis tonight and finding that it is getting very close.  I am thinking that tomorrow may be the day.  Keep checking to find out!!  

Chrysalis Update

Not too much change has been happening.......however, if you look very closely you can see lines on the chrysalis.  Those are the lines on the wings of the monarch.  It won't be too much longer!

Not much change

It looks like maybe there is one more gold dot starting to appear on the chrysalis.  Otherwise not much change over the weekend.

There is not much change in the chrysalis today. However, we did notice a couple more gold spots. If you look very closely, there is another one located near the very bottom.   Did you find it?
